Bloomington Birth & Bodywork offers the Elle TENS2, a labor-specific TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) unit available for rental to support comfort during labor.

A TENS unit provides gentle, adjustable electrical pulses that many people find helpful for managing contraction sensations, particularly during early and active labor. It can be used at home or in the hospital and is a popular drug-free comfort option for those seeking additional tools for coping during labor.
The Elle TENS2 is designed specifically for birth and includes labor-focused programs and an easy-to-use “boost” button that allows intensity to increase during contractions.

How to Reserve
To reserve the Elle TENS2 for your birth month or to learn more, please contact us directly or request the rental during your prenatal visit.
Rental Period
The TENS unit is reserved by birth month to ensure availability.

Available for pickup or delivery beginning at 37 weeks gestation

Must be returned within 7 days postpartum, unless otherwise arranged

Your reservation guarantees exclusive use of the unit during your birth month window

TENS units are considered safe for use in labor but are not a medical treatment.

The Elle TENS2 should not be used:

before 37 weeks without provider approval

in water or during hydrotherapy

with a pacemaker

on broken or irritated skin

Instructions and guidance are provided, and your doula can assist with pad placement and use.
