INFANT MASSAGE & TUMMYTIME

We believe that touch nurtures strong babies.

Our parent classes are designed to: be playful and fun, optimize strength and endurance, promote sensory processing and integration, connect parent and baby, promote optimal whole body movement,  and elicit, utilize, and integrate primitive, postural and oral reflexes.

Infant Massage & TummyTime: Services

INFANT MASSAGE + TUMMYTIME CLASS

Over the course of four weeks, you will learn massage strokes for all areas of your baby’s body. You will also learn strategies for calming, specific techniques to relieve colic and gas, comforting yoga holds, how to roll in and out of tummytime, and more.

All babies can benefit from our parent classes or hands-on infant massage services, but they may be especially helpful for babies who have difficulty with breastfeeding, digestion, tongue tie, reflux, colic, plagiocephaly or torticollis.  These services are best utlized by newborn to pre-crawling babies.

We offer lots of opportunity for review and practice so that you can be sure to walk away feeling confident with your new skills.  Class also provides an excellent opportunity to connect with other new parents.

INFANT MASSAGE + CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY

Craniosacral therapy is a non-invasive approach that is gentle, yet powerful, when used to treat babies and children. For some infants, the birth process can generate mild to severe central nervous system compromises, most of which can develop during pregnancy. Using a light touch throughout the body, the therapist monitors the rhythm of the fluid that flowing around the central nervous system (the brain and spinal cord) to detect restrictions. Delicate hands-on techniques are used to release those restrictions. Sessions can be given laying down, sitting on a parent's lap, or while breastfeeding. These sessions provide a combination of craniosacral therapy, soft tissue release, and parent education. Treatments may be done in the privacy of your own home, or at the clinic.  Expect 45 minutes of hands-on time, as baby allows.
