ABOUT BLOOMINGTON BIRTH & BODYWORK
Specialized care for pregnancy, postpartum, babies—
and the bodies carrying them through it all.
Bloomington Birth & Bodywork is a massage and bodywork practice rooted in individualized, thoughtful care. We specialize in pregnancy, birth preparation, postpartum recovery, and infant bodywork while also offering integrative therapeutic massage for clients in every season of life.
Our goal is simple: to create a place where you feel listened to, cared for, and supported in the body you're living in today.
Our Story
ROOTED IN BIRTH. BUILT AROUND THE BODY.
Bloomington Birth & Bodywork grew from the intersection of massage therapy and birth work.
Founded by Kari Cantrell, LMT, the practice has evolved over more than a decade of supporting people through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, feeding, infancy, and the many physical transitions that come with them.
That experience shaped a practice where massage isn't one-size-fits-all. We look beyond a single sore muscle to consider movement, positioning, daily demands, nervous-system regulation, and the bigger picture of what your body is experiencing.
Today, perinatal and infant care remain at the heart of our work—but you don't have to be pregnant or postpartum to belong here.

What Makes Our Care Different
INDIVIDUALIZED
No two bodies—or sessions—are exactly alike. Your care is built around what you're experiencing and what you need that day
NURTURING + THERAPEUTIC
INTEGRATIVE
We draw from massage, bodywork, movement, positioning, education, and other tools within each therapist's training rather than making you choose the “right” modality.
You shouldn't have to choose between effective therapeutic work and feeling cared for. We believe there's room for both.
Care Through Changing Seasons
Bodies change. Families change. What you need from care changes, too.
Some clients first find us while trying to conceive. Others arrive during pregnancy, return after birth, bring their babies in for bodywork, and continue coming for massage long after the postpartum season has passed.
Others aren't navigating the perinatal period at all—they simply want thoughtful, individualized therapeutic bodywork.
Wherever you're starting, you're welcome here.
